Know which plug is which.

List the cords behind your desk, TV or network shelf. Cordwise gives every cord a short code, maps each outlet on the power strip, checks the strip’s load against its rating, and prints wrap-around labels for both ends.

Three steps, one evening

  1. 01

    List the cords

Device, kind of cable, and where the other end goes. Power cords take a strip outlet and, if you like, the watts from the device label.

  2. 02

    Read the map

Every cord gets a code: P for power, V for video, N for network, U for USB, A for audio. The strip map shows which outlet feeds what, and flags doubled-up outlets.

  3. 03

    Print and wrap

Two flag labels per cord, one for each end, at true size on plain paper. Fold around the cord, tape the faces together, done.

Fair questions

Is this a fire-safety tool?

No. The load check adds up the watts you enter and compares them with the strip’s rating. It cannot see the wiring, the wall outlet or the cords themselves. It is a way to notice an overloaded strip early, not a guarantee.

Where do I find the watts?

On the device’s rating label or its power brick: either a watt figure, or volts and amps to multiply. The guide shows how. The label is the most the device may draw, so the total is on the cautious side.

Do I need an account?

No. Plans you do not save are thrown away. A saved setup lives on a private link that only you hold.

Is this the WeldonPC repair service?

No. Cordwise is a self-service tool made by WeldonPC. It does not book repairs or visits.
